Don’t miss your opportunity to see one of the finest horse art shows in the country! The American Academy of Equine Art (AAEA) will hold its 2009 Fall Open Juried Exhibition and Sale at the International Museum of the Horse (IMH) at the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, Kentucky. The show will open with an artists’ reception on Friday, September 25, 2009, (to the public the next day) from 6:30-9:00 p.m. and run through Sunday, November 8, 2009.
This is an exciting annual event eagerly anticipated by equine art lovers and collectors alike. It features artists from throughout the U. S. and around the world. Administrative manager, Frances Clay Conner notes,“This year there were over 600 entries, some from as far away as New Zealand, all competing for about 91 gallery spaces. As a result the quality of this year’s show is particularly outstanding, with a varied and interesting mix of styles and techniques. It is certainly worth a visit to see this unique collection. However, if you can’t make it to the park you can view the exhibit online at www.aaea.net” she concludes.
A nonprofit group dedicated to the promotion of excellence in the equine art genre, AAEA was founded in 1980 by such notable artists as Jean Bowman, Marilyn Newmark, Richard Stone Reeves and Sam Savitt. Its full and associate members are considered among the finest contemporary horse painters and sculptors in this field.
