Los Angeles Asian & Tribal Art Show Showcases Museum

Vetted Annual Show Opens with a Benefit for the Fowler Museum at UCLA

The 19th Annual Los Angeles Asian & Tribal Art Show (LAATA) returns to the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium from November 14-15, 2009. The first show of its kind in the region: the LAATA is a nexus point for internationally renowned art dealers specializing in Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian and South Asian) and Tribal arts (African, American Indian, Oceanic & Sumatran). Vetted to ensure quality and provenance, the Los Angeles Asian & Tribal Art Show is a trusted place to learn about or purchase high-quality, authentic arts.

Visitors attending the show will experience more than 60 individual galleries, each showcasing an exclusive selection of authentic Asian and Tribal arts pieces, from some of the most-sought-after collecting arenas in the world. Art collectors, museum professionals, historians, arts enthusiasts and interior designers attend the show to add to their collections, learn about the different cultures or simply to find a beautiful piece of art to add to their home.

A 2008 show visitor states, “You don’t necessarily need elite expertise to find a great piece of art. I am a designer and I don’t have any special knowledge about Asian or Tribal art. I know what I like and what will look great in my house and the house of my client.”

The LAATA will open with a preview reception to benefit the Fowler Museum of Cultural History’s Textile Council on Friday November 13, 2009. Sponsored by Art Living Magazine and California Homes, the wine and cheese reception will feature lively music and silent auction. The benefit routinely draws prominent museum and arts supporters eager to take advantage of the ’first look’ at the show.

The Los Angeles Asian & Tribal Art Show will also present a series of arts discussions, a travel seminar and film screening. Saturday, November 14
