"I love painting water. I love figuring out the ebb and flow as well as the shadows and reflections. Water always adds an extra dimension."

    Susan Guy Shares Stolen Moments

Born and raised in Michigan, Susan Guy saw Wyoming for the first time in 1991 when she traveled to Yellowstone on vacation with her husband.

She fell in love with the light and color of the West and since then has made it the subject of her paintings in watercolors and oils. She now resides in Buffalo, Wyoming, and enjoys painting many subjects, including figures and animals, but horses take center stage in many of her western art paintings.

Susan Guy states, "My goal with each painting is to evoke some emotion in the viewer. By creating a strong, visually exciting composition using light, shadow, and color, I hope to give the sense of sharing a stolen moment of time."

Guy's work has been included in numerous exhibitions including Arts for the Parks Top 100 in Jackson, Wyoming, The Charles Russell Art Auction and Sale in Great Falls, Montana, and The Coors Western Art Show in Denver, Colorado, where one of her paintings was awarded the People's Choice Award for 2003.

Susan Guy's work is represented by Spirits in the Wind Gallery in Golden, Colorado; Heritage Fine Art in Scottsdale, Arizona; Foothills Gallery in Sheridan, Wyoming; and Cowboy Trader Gallery in Birmingham, Michigan.
