    Editor's Comments:

Publishing this magazine introduced me to an entirely new world of fine art. As I viewed the art and learned more about the artists, I became excited, as if I discovered a secret everyone should know. I kept thinking, there are countless horse owners and horse lovers who will be thrilled to discover this art exists! Now after three years, I recognize many equine artists’ names and their individual styles. In many instances, I can view a new piece and say, "That looks like so-and-so's work."

What a fabulous thing for an artist to reach a level of recognition where their work brings forth their name to the viewer's mind. The beloved mystery writer Dick Francis, an ex-jockey whose whole world was about horses, wrote about the magic of painting in his novel involving a painter of horses "An artist's signature is all over the painting, not just in the corner. His brush strokes are as individual as hand writing."

Part of the benefit of doing what you love - writing, painting, riding leads to other personal and meaningful discoveries. Equine Vision subscribers are part of this phenomenon as they read about artists and view their work. The passion stems from the adoration for the subject matter the horse.

This same passion is felt by the artists. They often talk about infinite ideas for works of art not yet created. Art Business News is planning an article about equine art and interviewed the editor of Equine Vision Magazine. Could it be we are creating a stir in the bigger art world where, according to most art critics, no respectable artist would admit to just painting horses? In the book The Horse in Art by John Farley he states, "Artists have succumbed without reservation to the emotions that the horse can inspire."

The riders, owners and lovers of horses who read our publication and purchase the inspired art have succumbed to the same emotions.

      Enjoy!
